Use It or Lose It

Most people who know me well also know that I am a pretty big Seminole fan. Sometimes I'm a little too passionate when I'm watching the Noles play football. I recently came across a quote from coach Bobby Bowden that said "Don't go to the grave with life unused." With that said, we should ask ourselves how can we use what's left of our lives so that when we breathe our last breath here on this earth we can know we gave our all? The answer is simple WORSHIP GOD! Listen to what David says in Psalm 146:2 "I will praise the LORD all my life;I will sing praise to my God as long as I live."

For those of us who are Christ followers, this should be our desire. This is what we need to be most passionate about, not football or anything else. The key to all of this is surrender. Laying all that we have and everything we are at the feet of Jesus, walking in the light of Jesus, and having our hearts resonate with the heart of Jesus. That is the only way we can go to the grave with life lived to the fullest.

Everlasting Hope

As I watch television news, read the newspaper and listen to talk radio it doesn't take me long at all to realize that this world is in need of serious hope. Not temporary hope that the lottery or drug addiction may give and not false hope that the government offers. What this world needs is an authentic hope. One that never fades. Does such a hope exist? That seems to be the billion dollar bail out question these days.

On September 17, 1993 I found this everlasting hope. It was in the last place I was looking for it. I found it in the pages of scripture. Romans 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Only God could give me this hope. That is exactly what He did when I surrendered my life to Him through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

For all of us who have found this hope, the question we need to ask ourselves is what are we doing with it. I believe it is a sin for us to keep it to our self. We most likely not going to change the world overnight, but we can start with our own circle of influence.

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
